Photography is a medium that has the potential to create ethereal images while still being clear and what one would call in painting, “representational”. This way, photos can become veritable dream images, as they can appear very much as something we would see on a day-to-day basis, yet, be in another dimension, or between dimensions.
Serge Teixeira does exactly this in his photographs, which seem to be very much “in-between” this world and the worlds that exist in his imagination. They are a great place to start one’s own exploration of the ways in which dreams sometimes feel like reality and how daily living can sometimes feel like a dream.
Maybe the line is in actuality not so clear and art can help us understand the world in which we exist better.
